Phase one of Daily Park is in the works! Located just outside of Simonton, Texas the new Fort Bend County Precinct 3 park will include football, baseball, and soccer fields, nature trails, and a lake.
Commissioner Meyers met with Road and Bridge Superintendent , Darren Mikeska, and is extremely pleased with the progress being made on the park. He will be continue meeting regularly with county staff to ensure the park construction is moving along in a timely manner, but in the meantime we wanted to give you all an update on the specifics to Daily Park.
Phase One has started in earnest and will include parking and three football/soccer fields on the north end of the property closest to Nails Road.Currently, our crews are clearing the area which will eventually house three football fields, a pavilion, and a parking lot. Weather permitting, Darren and Commissioner Meyers discussed plans to start bringing in dirt for the three football fields in the next week or two. Our goal is to keep the area as natural looking as possible, so we are keeping as many mature trees as we can around the football fields.
Commissioner Meyers spoke with a representative from Kinder Morgan, to discuss the permissions and safety measures needed to cross the gas pipeline with our heavy equipment. Especially after last week’s pipeline explosion in Beasley – we are working closely with Kinder Morgan to ensure everyone’s safety.Once we gain permission to cross the pipeline with our heavy machinery, we will start work on phase two of the park. Phase two will include four baseball fields, a pavilion, playground, concession stand, more parking, and possibly a cricket pitch.
Once we gain clearance to cross the natural gas pipeline, construction will start on our baseball fields, playgrounds, concessions, and additional parking. The third phase will be a nature preserve. The goal is to keep this part of the park in its natural state for the most part, but we will construct nature trails and include a small amenity lake.
We’re excited about Daily Park and we can’t wait to share this wonderful piece of land with the whole community. This beautiful parkland is going to serve happy memories and outdoor fun for many families in the Simonton / Fulshear area in the decades to come. W - stay tuned for more construction news and announcements in the weeks to come!
