Grady Mapes confirmed that the construction timeline begins in June 2020 for the north part of the FM 1463 widening project (between I-10 and Tamarron Parkway) and January 2021 for the south part (from Tamarron down to FM 1093.) The road engineering design is at 90% completion and Mapes indicated that the road will be expanded to as many as 8 total lanes between I-10 and Kingsland, 6 lanes at other major intersections, and 4 lanes (2 in each direction) for the main travel lengths..
