ROUTES: Currently US 59 and Interstate 10 going into Houston are closed. SH 99 north of I 10 at Clay Road is closed. The SH 99 Bridge over the Brazos River just north of US 59 and south of US 90A will likely be closed by midnight tonight, so if you wish to get to shelters at Gallery Furniture on SH 99 at W. Bellfort or Cinco Ranch High School on Cinco Ranch Blvd. just west of SH 99 and you live south of US 90A you may wish to leave now. SH 99 between US 90A and W. Airport Blvd. and at Peek Road median cut is intermittently passable depending on the amount of rain. SH 99 at US 90A and SH 99 at FM 1093/Westpark Tollway are impassable. Sienna Plantation residents are asked to take LJ Parkway to University Dr to 59 South

NEW ROUTE TO I-10 WEST: 59 S to SH 60 in Hungerford. 60 N to 90A in E Bernard. 90A W to FM 102 in Eagle Lake. 102 N to I-10. Highway 6 is currently the only north-south route open currently in Fort Bend County. You should be able to get to US 290 and SH 249 in Harris County and travel northwest from there. Visit Harris County’s website http://readyharris.org/News-Information/Harris-County-Alerts/Post/26651 or call them 713-881-3100 for the latest information on traffic conditions.

We are seeking conformation on impassable intersections along SH 99, particularly Fry, Westheimer Parkway, Cinco Ranch Blvd., Highland Knolls, and Kingsland. We have unconfirmed reports some are not passable, we are checking as the situation seems to change over time as hard rain seems to shut intersections down and a lull allows the water to drain and the roads are passable again.

For those of you who live WEST of the Barker Reservoir and EAST of SH 99 you can go to this website https://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv?cb_00045=on&cb_00054=on&cb_62615=on&cb_62615=on&format=gif_stats&site_no=08072500&period=&begin_date=2017-08-21&end_date=2017-08-28 for updated information on the water level of the Reservoir. At 1:15 PM the water level was 98.27 feet and rising about ¼ ft. per hour currently, which will likely change with heavier rain. Flood level for the Barker Reservoir is 95 feet, so the Reservoir is already 3+ feet out of its banks. Some water will be released in preparation for the additional rain coming later today and tomorrow, but the Reservoir is expected to continue to rise with the additional rain water to come.

A Voluntary Evacuation for the subdivisions west of the Barker Reservoir, east of SH 99, north of FM 1093/Westpark Tollway, and south of Westheimer Parkway. You can go to the county’s Interactive Floodplain Mapping Tool and type in your address http://fbcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/OnePane/basicviewer/index.html?appid=cfe8b1a5660f4c5ca07f48aec0690591 This will give you the elevation of your lot. If your lot is 100 ft. or below or your street is below 100 ft. you should consider moving to a shelter at Cinco Ranch High School on Cinco Ranch Blvd. just west of SH 99 - this shelter is almost full. We are working to open new shelters immediately. More updates as they occur.
